I took this same shot, but passed over it in editing... but i didn't see the square crop, and thats just perfect given the subject.
I like the clarity and sharpness of all the textures. What is really catching my attention is the lack of outline on the door's window. Since it is the source of the light and you metered either the ground or stairs, it being blown away by the exposure is a nice contrast to the clarity of the rest of the image.
The cool, cyanotype processing also is a perfect color selection. The original coloring of the environment would be much to distracting to the overall image. Focusing on the dilapidation itself, is an excellent choice.
I think we need to go back and make that old TV a prop.
